Carteret Announces Christmas Festival & Tree Lighting and Menorah Lighting Ceremonies

Carteret, NJ – Mayor Daniel J. Reiman and Council President Vinnie Belino announced the Christmas Festival will occur on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd from 6PM – 10 PM at Carteret Park.  The tree lighting will be held Friday, December 2nd at 7PM at the Ed Szymborski Bandstand Gazebo.  The festival will feature live music, pictures with Santa and horse & buggy rides, and the Borough will have a “Twelve days of Christmas” light display.

Residents also have the opportunity to participate in a Christmas House Decorating Contest. As part of the festival, buses will be available for residents for a tour of the houses competing in the holiday contest.  Registration can be completed by calling 732-541-3890 or done on online at Carteret.net. The deadline to participating is Thursday, Dec 1st by the end of the business day.

The Borough will be hosting a Menorah Lighting Ceremony in celebration of Chanukah on Tuesday, December 27th at 5:30 PM at Memorial Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Ave.  Chanukah begins December 24th and ends January 1st. The borough will be accepting canned and dry foods for donation to local food pantries over this holiday season.
