Carteret Fire Department Featured in GE Appliances Commercial Series “Our American Kitchen”

Carteret, NJ – Mayor Reiman and Fire Chief Mark Hruska announced today that the Carteret Fire Department (CFD) was featured in a General Electric (GE) Appliances’ Commercial called “Our American Kitchen.” The CFD was chosen by GE Appliances to participate in their advertising campaign which explores the heart of the American life.

After researching and interviewing numerous fire departments, GE selected the CFD to be featured in their commercial campaign. As part of the project, GE donated more than $10,000 worth of commercial grade kitchen appliances that were installed in the fire house kitchen.

“Our career and volunteer firefighters serve our community every day,” said Mayor Reiman. “We are proud of their hard work.”

The commercial was filmed over a 16-hour period by a professional film crew and sound team. Some of the footage was shot by a drone which filmed the fire apparatus response and the existing Fire HQ. The commercial will be aired in the upcoming months and will be accompanied by print advertisements.

“The kitchen never closes,” said Chief Hruska. “It is the heartbeat of our department.”

Members of the CFD featured in the commercial are Captain Pete Ziemba, Lieutenant Dan Biel, Firefighter Joe Gadomski, Firefighter Jason Kurdyla, Firefighter Eric Wahl and Emergency Medical Transporter Erin Ruhl. The commercial is narrated by Fire Chief Mark Hruska.

The commercial series episode is called “The Nightshift at Carteret Firehouse.” It can viewed at, http://www.geappliances.com/ge/great-american-kitchen/firehouse/
