Carteret to Welcome Country Superstar Kellie Pickler

Carteret, NJ – American Idol alumni, Dancing With The Stars champion, and country music superstar Kellie Pickler will be in Carteret on Saturday, September 6th, for a live concert as part of a Borough-wide multi-day celebration. The concert, free to the public and taking place at Carteret Park, is the cornerstone of a weekend that includes Mayor Dan Reiman’s Charity Trust Fund Carnival, annual Charity Car Show, and the Borough’s 39th Ethnic Day Festival.

Ms. Pickler was a contestant on season 5 of American Idol, and since that time, has become one of the country music industry’s most sought-after talents. Kellie’s debut album, Small Town Girl, was certified gold by the RIAA, and her subsequent singles have consistently reached the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Song charts. Most recently, Kellie and her partner, Derek Hough, were declared the winners of season 16 of Dancing with the Stars.

Her attendance at this year’s celebration marks yet another milestone for what has become one of the Borough’s most cherished events. For 39 years, the arrival of September in Carteret has brought with it the town’s Ethnic Day Festival, a day full of entertainment, ethnic foods, and crafts that celebrates the diversity that characterizes this suburban community. With the introduction of the Children’s Charity Trust Fund in 2003, Mayor Dan Reiman has since expanded the festivities to four days with the Children’s Charity Carnival and Charity Car Show.

This year, the Charity Trust Fund Carnival will run from Thursday, September 4th to Saturday, September 6th, and Ethnic Day will be held on Saturday, September 6th.
