Carteret to break ground Friday, Dec. 12
on $48M Carteret Multimodal Ferry Terminal Building

24-month construction project by will include
restaurants, retail, office space, and rooftop amenities

WHO: Borough of Carteret officials, leaders & representatives of the state government, and project contractors and consultants will celebrate the ground breaking of the $48 million Carteret Multimodal Ferry Terminal Building.

WHAT: Groundbreaking of four-story 52,000-square-foot Carteret Multimodal Ferry Terminal Building.

WHEN: 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12 groundbreaking for early 2028 opening.

WHERE: Lot next to Waterfront Park, which is located at 200 Middlesex Ave., Carteret NJ 07008 off New Jersey Turnpike Exit 12

WHY: Central Jersey has a need for reliable, significantly quicker and more environmentally-friendly transportation service to New York City, plus the ferry terminal will be a waterfront destination onto itself with restaurants, retail, rooftop amenities and more.

HOW: Construction by Brockwell and Carrington Contractors of Towaco, NJ, also will include a bar, lounge, restrooms, a ticketing area, leasable office space, an event hall, and a training center.
